How often should I service my basement pump?

Most residential basement pumps need servicing once a year. Systems that work particularly hard, or are in properties with a high water table, may need checking more often. I'll always recommend the interval your specific system needs rather than a one-size-fits-all schedule.

What happens if my basement pump fails?

A failed pump can allow water to build up in the basement within hours, especially during heavy rain, leading to flooding, mould and damage to anything stored below ground. If your pump has failed or is alarming, I offer emergency call-outs across London and the Home Counties, call as soon as you notice a problem.

How much does basement pump servicing cost in London?

My standard basement pump service is £225 per visit, an emergency call-out is £169 (this includes first hour on site then hourly rate of £47 applies), and installation labour is £199 plus materials at cost plus 30%. Prices vary across the industry depending on the number of pump stations and the level of cover included - I keep mine transparent and published so there are no surprises.

Do I need a service plan, or can I book one-off visits?

Either works. Most of my customers book an annual service and I send a reminder when it's due, but there's no obligation to sign up to anything - you can book a one-off visit whenever you need one.
